Meet Our Team

Mr. Senthil Kumara Raja

Our senior physiotherapist has more than two decades of experience in physiotherapy. Senthil’s therapy sessions and yoga courses integrate the ancient wisdom of yoga with modern scientific approaches. Registered as a physiotherapist and massage therapist in Alberta, he additionally works as a yoga therapist and is a certified manipulation therapist who also practices intra-muscular stimulation (IMS) (dry needling) for various conditions. He specializes in physiotherapy for neurological and musculoskeletal problems, motor vehicle accidents (MVA), post-surgical rehabilitation, pediatrics, chronic pain management, vestibular rehabilitation and TMJ dysfunction.

Senthil has a masters in fitness, exercise rehabilitation and nutrition from YMCA College in his home country of India. He completed a masters degree in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences and a two-year Yoga Therapy course from the pioneering institution in its field – the Krishnamachary Yoga Mandhiram in India. He also has certifications in traditional Indian Ayurvedic therapies and massage.

Senthil is currently an instructor at Calgary’s Mount Royal University in the department of Yoga Therapy Studies. He has also authored several magazine articles on health and fitness as well as a book, the Hand Book of Home Exercises.

Romina Manrique,PT/
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist

Romina is an experienced physiotherapist who advocates a positive environment in treating
patients focused on their recovery. She has over 16 years of experience in the field of
physiotherapy. She is certified in Biomedical Dry Needling (BDN) / Intramuscular stimulation
(IMS). Romina is also a pelvic floor physiotherapist who assesses and treats pelvic health
conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and/or fecal incontinence, urinary urgency,
pelvic girdle pain, and post partum care.
Over the years, she has worked with a wide variety of populations which includes but not limited
to patients recovering from surgery, motor vehicle accidents, work-related injuries, neurological
disorders (stroke, brain injury), musculoskeletal and orthopedic disorders (post-fracture, TMJ,
neck, shoulder, back, hip, knee, ankle and foot injuries/problems).
Romina believes that continuing education would further enhance her knowledge and skills as a
physiotherapist aiming to provide the highest quality of care. In her free time, she enjoys
spending time traveling with her family.

Karthik Shyla

Karthik studied Ayurvedic (Indian herbal oil) massage therapy at the
popular Arya Vaidya Sala, India, and began practicing Indian herbal remedies.
She is now is a registered massage therapist
in Canada. Her massage therapy sessions
often combine modern, deep-tissue techniques with traditional Ayurvedic massages.
She has an interest in treating patients with
chronic pains, stress and disabilities.

Barbara Varty

Barbara has 17 years of experience in the industry. She has since expanded her work techniques to include, deep tissue, soft tissue, hot stone, trigger points, foot massage, TMJ points, and Swedish massage. She loves helping people and always wants to make a difference in their lives. In her spare time, Barbara composes and performs music.

Priyanka Malhotra

14 years of Comprehensive experience in clinical as well as academic in the field of physiotherapy and healthcare management. Specialized experience in Performing patient assessments formulation and execution of varied therapy programs, profound experience in conducting lectures designing curriculum and demonstrations for physiotherapy students, expertise in clinic management including medical documentation using various software patient profiling and grievances handling and resilience along with direct billing and appointment scheduling. Amneet Kaur

We are excited to update you that our Physiotherapist Mrs. Amneet Kaur has
extended her availability here after. She will now be available in both of our locations and is
willing to accept new patients. She has an expertise with common conditions like:Neck & Back
pain, Hip & Knee pain, Ankle Injury, Shoulder, elbow and wrist injuries.
Amneet was born in India and completed her bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy in India.
She moved to Canada to pursue her physiotherapy career and is now licensed to practice
physiotherapy in Canada. She is passionate about her profession and thrives to help people in
pain by identifying the cause and maximizing their quality of life by working on the cause.
Amneet is skilled at therapeutic interventions on movement disorders, and in the prevention,
treatment, and rehabilitation of acute, sub-acute and chronic injuries. She believes in working in
harmony with her clients to achieve a common goal that is, return to full functional

Sonia hails from Pune, she holds a Master of Physiotherapy ( Community Rehabilitation) degree
from India. She was always very passionate about teaching and hence worked as a Lecturer in

a college in India. Her keen passion in teaching and interest for physiotherapy drove her to
practice in her own school from India. She holds seven years of hands-on and teaching
experience specialising in musculoskeletal injuries(back, hip, knee, spine,shoulder), pelvic floor
physiotherapy, ANC / PNC, Geriatrics and sports injuries.
She is expertise in myofacial release techniques, therapeutic taping, fire-glass cupping, manual
therapy and many more to treat injuries.
Sonia believes in preventative care through education and custom exercise programs. And
strongly encourages this to the patients with injury prevention knowledge to live an enriched life.

Dr. Karthik Raj

Karthik graduated from Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture and has been practicing acupuncture for several years. Karthik has a deep appreciation for both Western and Eastern medicine. However, his passion for Chinese medicine and acupuncture began in their teens and has only grown stronger with time.

Karthik has a patient-centered approach and believes in treating the person as whole, not just the symptoms. He takes the time to understand each patient’s unique health concerns and work with them to develop a personalised treatment plan that aligns with their goals.

In addition to acupuncture, He has undergone training in various Chinese medicine modalities, including cupping, moxibustion, and herbal medicine. They are committed to providing safe, effective, and compassionate care to their patients.

Other than TCM, He is also an avid cyclist and a hiker who enjoys doing that in his leisure time.
